Actually, that is a bit of an understatement. In Japan, the trading cards alone have sold over three billion trading cards. So, it was no shock that Yu-gi-oh! made its way to the western world. The basic story of Yu-Gi-Oh! surrounds a boy called Yugi. Yugi is give the Millennium Puzzle which is an ancient Egyptian artifact. The puzzle is suppose to be unsolvable but somehow Yugi solves it and when he does he is given a alter ego that will help him protect the world. This is a good thing because the world is about to need some serious protection. Yugi and his gang of friends are, like any kids, caught up in the latest trading card game that is sweeping their community. This game is called Duel Monsters and when the game is played the monsters on the cards come to life. However, what Yugi doesn't know is that the card game is a descendant of a five thousand year old game that had previously threatened to destroy the world.
